How to Download Media
VIDIZMO allows users to download published media files (audio, video, documents, or images) for offline use. You can download media from two locations: Media Manager or the Playback Page.
Prerequisites
- You must belong to a group with Media Download permission enabled, or have a CAL that grants this permission.
- The media must have Allow Downloading enabled in Media Settings.
Enable Downloading for Media
To allow users to download a specific media file, enable the download option in Media Settings.
When Uploading Media
- Upload your media file.
- In the Media Settings, select the Publish tab.
- Under Sharing and Download, select the Allow Downloading checkbox.
- Select Save or Save and Close.
For Existing Media
- In the Media Manager, locate the media file.
- Select the overflow menu (⋮) and select Settings.
- Select the Publish tab.
- Under Sharing and Download, select the Allow Downloading checkbox.
- Select Save or Save and Close.
Download from Media Manager
- In the left navigation panel, expand Admin and select Media Manager.
- Locate the media you want to download.
- Select the overflow menu (⋮) next to the media.
- Select Download.
- Select the desired rendition to download.
The file downloads in the selected rendition format.
Download from Playback Page
- Navigate to the media using Search or the Media Library.
- Select the media to open the Playback Page.
- Select the Download icon in the action bar.
- Select the desired rendition to download.
The file downloads in the selected rendition format.
NOTE: The available renditions depend on how the media was processed. See How to View Media Information for details on renditions.
Download Disclaimers
Portal Managers can configure a disclaimer message that displays before users download media. See How to Add a Disclaimer Message on Media Download.
